Empowering Future Leaders at Virginia University Preparatory
Our Mission
"Virginia UPrep is dedicated to bridging the gap between education and opportunity by providing out-of-school time (OST) programs that prepare students for college, careers, and lifelong success. Through STEM, liberal arts, and mentorship, we empower students with the skills, resources, and support they need to navigate their future—whether in higher education, skilled trades, or entrepreneurial ventures. Our goal is to build a strong community where every student has access to the tools needed to achieve their full potential."

Virginia Tech Imagination Summer Camp
In Imagination you will explore the world of science, technology and engineering… Not by watching, but by DOING! You will learn about the engineering design process as you build your own devices and participate in hands on activities exploring the many different aspects of engineering. Rising 7th or 8th graders are invited to apply. Preference will be given to first time applicants.
Imagination will host three weeklong sessions. The second and third week will feature an electrical and computer engineering (ECE) project such as building a video game console or digital camera, including learning to solder. The first session will allow you to build, fly and take home a drone. ECE-related camps have both day and residential options. The drone camp is residential only. Programming will take place from 8:30 am to 4:30 pm on the Blacksburg campus of Virginia Tech.
June 14 - June 20, 2026 (Drone Build & Fly; RESIDENTIAL ONLY)
